Genosys dermaroller product details
CE and ISO certificated Medical Grade Stainless Steel needles.
This prestige device is a durable, high quality, precision tool. It uses multiple very fine surgical stainless steel needles aim to injure the skin sufficiently enough to stimulate collagen and elastin. The resulting micro-channels also aid in infusing therapeutic serums for greater penetration and overall efficacy.
What is a dermaroller?
A dermaroller as illustrated in the product picture on this page, is a handheld, manual device that has a cylindrical drum attached to the end. This drum is surrounded by small needles that when rolled over the surface of the skin cause mild trauma to it. This trauma stimulates a healing response from the skin which in turn increases collagen and elastin production. It is collagen and elastin that give the skin a firm and smooth texture.
Dermarollers do not just come in one standard needle size, different needle lengths are used dependent upon the skin concern that you are trying to treat. Below is an explanation of what each length of needle treats.

Microneedling Pens
A fantastic alternative to the dermaroller is the Genosys dermafix pen. Automated pen devices reduce the risk of needle stick injury and have adjustable needle depths meaning that if you wish to use a 0.25 needle on one part of the face and 1mm on another, you can quickly and easily change the depth. When just using a dermaroller, you will need to use two different dermarollers to be able to do this. For more information on the Dermafix automated pen device, click here.
How often can a dermaroller be used?
Below is a guideline regarding the maximum amount of times a dermaroller can be used on the skin. These guidelines do not factor in skin concerns that clients may have, so it is always important to take each client case by case. Also, if the client is having other treatments such as skin peels or radiofrequency, the regularity of which this treatment will be able to be performed on the skin will change.
- 0.25 – Every other day
- 0.50 – 1 – 3 times a week
- 1mm – Every 30 days
- 1.5mm – Every 30 days
- 2mm – Every 6 weeks
Best practices
1. Don’t use a dermaroller on active acne
A dermaroller should never be used on active acne. Using any form of microneedling can cause further outbreaks and spread bacteria. If your client has just one or two pimples, it is advised to just roll around it providing there is no other active acne.
2. Use SPF
It is always advised that clients try to stay out of the sun after a microneedling treatment, however, if clients do want to go out it is highly recommended that they wear SPF after the treatment, especially when a dermaroller with longer needles has been used.
